Default d16 wiring problems

I recently got an ef four door that was non running and had a d16z6 swap. well the wiring was bad so i bought a new d16z6 harness. the problem is my ef body harness conecters dont plug in. i can depin them no problem but i was wandering if anyone has a link or a diagram showing which wires are which on both the d15 body harness and the d16z6 engine harness.

car is a 91 4 door dx with a swaped d16z6

hate to be the bearer of bad news but you will be in for a nightmare if you try and use that harness. get yourself a stock dx harness and convert it to mpfi.

could you please explain? is there more to it than just depinning and repinning 3 body harness connectors. the dash harness is still a dx harness i just need to find a diagram or a place that has a conversion harness.

it is much easier to get a dx engine harness and add 2 wires to the distributor and 2 injector wires than it is to repin a z6 harness into a 88-91 civic dx harness.

It's possible to put your old plugs onto the D16z6 harness. Most people don't do it that way because of lack of knowledge to do so. Just look at the ecu diagrams from both cars and match up each wire.

or, you can just go to the junkyard and snag a complete harness from an EX 90-91 4DR civic. this option will make it 1000000x easier for you if you later on want to add power windows and mirrors. then all you need is the obd0-obd1 ecu jumper harness.

Dx engine bay to ecu harness doesn't have all the wires you need. As far as i know you cant jut splice the connectors. Get a DX harness and modify it for MPFI. Just finished a harness for a friend of mine, he has a 90 dx with a d15b in it. Changed his dx harness to multi point, and obd1, and wired vtec. If you want help there are lots of posts on how to do it. Or PM me.

i would just slap si wireng in there bro much less of a headache...
yes lots of time consumin work.. but so would be swaping all the plugs..
my dx hatch has si wireing and a obd0 to obd1 jumper runing a chiped and tuned p28 on my b16a with no issues...
all that plug swaping has alot of room for error...

That's very true, just make sure to get the complete harness ecu through engine or you will still have to modify.

I dont think rywire will do a z6 to dx ef conversion.. Usually you have to send them the dx engine harness and they send you back the modified dx engine harness that will work with the z6.

Like everyone else said, just get the dx harness and modify that. the z6 will just be annoying.

well let me first say thanks for all the help guys. as far as the connector swap goes that was my first thought but i cant find connector diagrams for both cuz alldata shows the same connector for both and we all know thats not the case.

and i talked to peter from rywire and he said send him a dx harness and a si harness and he will do a plug a play conversion for me that includes the jumperharness for the ecu so i think thats how its going to go down. that way i get a harness i know is correct and its easy to put together ha.

how much would they charge?
if you want to get to know your car, do it yourself. you will be more pleased when everything is up and going smoothly. Self Satisfaction i guess.

Is that why 90 has a plug on driverside shock tower? And there is no c217 on passenger side?

they all have a plug on the drivers side....88-89 will be squar i think....as the 90-91 will be round....all si plugs have the same wires i them...i really dont know what ur refering to by c217....if its a pin in the plug then....u have si engine wiring and dx.std car wiring.....and the cleaner way to run the injector wires is thru that side strait to that plug.....
