Default Bushings and suspension parts for race discussion

Hi...

This is a call for the road racing people experience.

I'm working on a Ek civic for road racing on my country and need some review about bushing needed and some suspension part. The car is only for race use.

First of all, says i have a little budget to start, and is for that, need help to chose a setup can works without problems and upgrade the car passing the time. I will use Dunlop slick tyres, medium compound, and the suspension is a Kayaba "tuned" with H&R race springs.

So... my entire bushings are off and need to mount some new.

Looking for a setup thinking to be good and low-budget i will choose that:

- Hyperflex master bushing kit and transmission.
- SPC aluminium or Hardrace front camber kit
- Have china rear camber kit needing new bushings (hyper kit)
- Spc rear toe
- Sway bars from SI for the moment.

OK ,
-what do you think about this setup?
-which parts do you exchange?
-Is a minimum good to take off the car?

Please make sure i'm noob on race scene and all review are welcome.

thanks

If you are serious about Road Racing and you are going to use Dunlop Slicks, Ideally you would want to get rid of every rubber or Urethane bush on the car and use all Spherical Bearings. I would recommend Hard Race, We use their spherical bearings, camber and toe kits throughout on our racecars.
I am the official West Coast distributor for HardRace, we have almost everything in stock most of the time.
However if you are on a tight budget, then you might want to try the full HardRace hard rubber bushing kit- It has 26 pieces and covers all the important areas on your car.

Good luck,

Kiwi

Scott, it took me 20 minutes to install mine :p. The new version is really, really easy to install. Even an idiot like me can install it in minutes.

but i don't see any bushing kit from wicked on the web. 0_0

The camber kits are good looking , but think the SPC or hardrace , are better.

My bigger matter are the bushing weapon.

Dpends what the 100% use for the car is.There is always custom.I don't believe in "not available" if I am looking for bearings.

PCI Spherical RTA bearings have to be the best ones on the market yet... installation and overhaul is simple and easy. The install took about 5 mins per side? Maybe less?

Feel free to shoot Kiwi or myself a PM if you are interested in a set.

You are entitled to your opinion, of course.
I am however, can speak in confidence that Wicked Tuning products are really good and well tested in a lot of race cars. One of the race car, was my old race car. Built in 2004. Won 3 National championship in 2006 by me, 2008 and 2009 by Graham Downey. Finished best of 9th place twice in World Challenge. 2007 by me and recently 2009 by Graham Downey.

Out of those years, it still uses the same original Wicked tuning part. Never even be replaced. What is more durable, reliable and proven than that?

Sorry if I don't make understand well andrie. My english is poor.

When i say SPC or Hardrace are better I would say "looks" better. is for that i'm asking here cause the race guys experience is the best test bank.

if I see the hardrace or SPC camber kit for example, the design and fabrication looks better than others, but is clear for me, if someone like you with that experience says "Good for the wicked" I put it on my head.

Neverthless , I'd like to make a little research for the people knowledge and try the better option.

thanks

im thinking about this for my ITR since my RTA bushings are shot, and was wondering, how do those RTA bearings do for street use as well? I heard the ride is somewhat harsh for daily driving, but i wanna know harsh in what way?

Another plus for the wicked stuff.

I replaced SPC arms with the Wicked Tuning stuff, love it and have never had a problem with it.

They have been on my car for a long time no reliability issues what so ever.

Everything fits right the first time too.

Plus SPC is only rubber, they are a good company but spherical is much much much better then rubber.

The pci trailing arm bushing is the best in the business. IMHO. Brian made a great product and it only improved year after year. I also ran that in my old car and one of the first he ever made. It is still on the car, the original unit 4 years later. I don't see why it won't hold up well on street car.

I run Hardrace RTA shperical bushings. Great parts, not sure if better or worse than PCI. But benefit is that sliding part is lubricated and very large diameter.

Rear upper link arms are from Kingmotorsports, as are front UCA bushings, all fitted with top quality Aurora spherical bushings.
