hello, im wondering how can you tell if a car has lsd w/o taking out its trany and looking through the axle hoe.

pull up ebrake and just do a burnout?? but sometimes doesnt both wheel burn out unless it gets a real good grip???

well im going to buy this gsr and the owner said it has lsd. because he know for a fact it does and he bought the car with lsd! and he said he also did a burn out..

i also herd that if you were to have LSD; when you jack up your car, and if your car is in neutral then you cant turn your steering wheel??? or something like your wheel wont be able to turn unless your car is on or ignition? IDK!!! HELP!

 

See if there is a LSD stamp on the tranny case,

Or jack up the car, put it in neutral and spin one front wheel by hand and have a buddy hold the other front wheel with all his force.

If you can spin the wheel without your buddies spinnng then you DO NOT HAVE LSD.

the above test doesnt always work, example you might get your buddie to spin his wheel also but that just means hes weak and not necesarly that you have LSD.

do a burn out and look and see if both spin or not

 

some tranys, both tire will spin because of bad traction.. unless ur at the TRACK!

 

I have the same problem.. But i bought a tranny out of the car. where would the LSD stamp be? I all so heard that ifn there is a bar separating the the two axel holes that its not lsd. Is that True?

 

I have a B16A with a cable Y1 tranny with LSD and it has an LSD stamp(on the top part of the tranny) right under the vtec solenoid. I posted a picture below for reference.



Cable Tranny has "TWO" LSD markings on them.
#1. It has the LSD mark on ink.
#2. It has an ingrave (just like the block code) on the top..its very small letters (~12pt font size) that says LSD.

Also, if the tranny is out look through the hole where the axles go---you should see through it (NO bar blocking your way). It has LSD.

If there is a bar through it---It's not LSD.

 

What kind of LSD? The ITR Helm or any 98-01 Integra Helm has a check procedure for the stock helical LSD.

Hey if you want I have a LSD B16 transmission For sale in ottawa. Needs the main shaft replaced, Wich I got. Shift great no grinds.

You can swap out the LSD into your B 16 tranny and sell the guts or something along those lines if you wanted to .
