A little background on the car.

91 LS B18b1 bottom end with a1 head.

guy i got it from had one cam off time by one tooth.

fixed that. timed it at 800 RPM. (cant get it to go lower)

now... when the car is cold RPMs go to about 2 grand. as the car warms, the idle goes down.

when its warm, it sits at about 1200, mind you i have the idle screw all the way in.

also when i lift on the gas pedal, the idle goes down (is that normal?).

no vaccuum leaks, or air leaks of any kind.

anyone have any suggestions or past experiences?

yes.

 

1200, but its wierd, sometimes its around 800, but most of the time 1200

 

you think it might be my IACV?

UPDATE

ok, throttle cable adjustment was the warm temp idle problem.

i now want to get rid of the high cold start idle.

when i start the car, it goes to 2 grand and gradually decrease as the water temp goes up.

sometimes in the middle of warming up, the idle searches from 1200 to 1500.

also, whe i push in the clutch and let off the gas while driving the rpms go up 200rpms for a split second, then goes down to idle.

any suggestions?

fixed my problem.
