I was started my car and began to drive and when I went to shift into 2nd gear, my RPM's totally dropped and my car shut off (stalled I guess?). I was like, what the hell....I turned it off and cranked it a few times but it wouldnt turn over. So I tried again and again but to no avail. So, I coasted down my hill in nuetral to try to get some momentum, and try to start it a few times. The starter was fine cause I could hear it but it still wouldnt turn over. I coasted for like another 20 seconds, then tried to start my car again. Nothing. Then I took the key out completly, waited a few seconds, and it started. I drove if for like 3 miles after that and it was cool. Then I let the car sit for about 2 hours. When I went to start it and drove it, seemed perfectly fine. What am I missing. Is my distributor going? Any suggestions please. Its a 98 with 90k...just got 90k check up too but the only thing I still need to do are my spark plugs and wires. Thanks!

Could be the igniter. When you say it wont turn over, that mean it dont even crank? If it is cranking then it could be the igniter, if it is not crankin it is something else, like the battery or grounds.

When I said turn over, I meant start. Sorry, that was a little ambiguous. So you think it may be the igniter. IF so, how much would that cost to replace? Thanks
