Ok, iīm interested on a used set of Spoon cams.
I canīt afford right now adj. cam gears. Thatīs why i was wondering on hp gains with stock cam gears.
Anyway, can be expected hp gains with 0/0 ?
By the way, i got my valvetrain and injection stuff to upgrade.
8 new stock valves ( 4 intake and 4 exaust- compression problems )
16 Portflow stiffer inner valves
16 Portflow titanium retainers
97+ prelude injectors

stock ITR valvetrain should work fine w/ Spoon cams, so why not save the money on the valve train and get the cam gears so you can tune it properly? Or do what B2Finity said, get more aggressive cams. You'll actually be losing some power w/ that stiff of valve spring used w/ Spoon cams.
i dont think your gonna gain much by putting in spoon cams. there was a post awhile back with an R with spoon cams, gears, pistons...pretty much spoon everything and he only made like 170 something to the wheel.

Spoon cams need camgears to tune it. If you got a great deal , well you should get it and install them when you get the money for the gears as well.
I have a couple sets (new) old style Spoon camgears on special , plz IM me for prices.

is good that you upgrade your valvetrain , especially if you plan to rev pass 8500rpms . you do need some up grading with spoon cams , especially on the exhaust side there is a big difference of lift went you compare 10.5 stock to 11.13
but running portflows valve train you are better of running at least jun stage 2 or skunk stage 2. it all depends how much hp you want your motor to get out of cams. an with any after market cams is best to have cam gears so you can tuned them and get the best gains out of them.
