ok i had a hf tranny put all the correct gears to change over to si gearing and now after solving sevral problems my last one is my case wont close i can barly stick my finger nale in it thats how small the gap is and i cant get it to close up any more has anyone had this problem?

 

Shim the mainshaft.

 

i have bolth the shims in there and its got the biggest gap around my reverse gear

 

what years are the parts???

88-89 vs 90-91, 1mm spacer shim issue.

 

Did you shim it?

Your statement about reverse makes no sense. Reverse consists of the mainshaft, 1/2 slider, and reverse idler gear, none of which keep the case from closing (mainshaft will if its not shimmed, but the reverse section of it doesn't affect case closing).
