Just installed header and issue with spark non fouler
Well i installed my kidd racing header and test pipe yesterday, I also purchased the non fouler from auto zone and drilled one so the o2 would fit and when I first ran my car it had no light. I drove it for 15 min and it was fine. When I turned it off and let it sit then started it later i got a CEL. Would leaving the battery unplugged fix this? Or just temporarily clear the code. Im not sure if I need to just get one of those more expensive non foulers that is longer. Besides that its great and well worth the effort to install this thing.
After installing my Vibrant cat-less header I had the same problem. I used the small straight defouler and the expensive longer one and still could not get the CEL to stay off. Got he Flash - Pro and the problem no longer exists. Along with the CEL the dyno was a tremendous
improvement.
improvement.
the defouler should make the CEL go away. I have no cat and when before i had my falshpro i never had a CEL. unplug the battary and then reconnect it. Drive it around and when it comes on take it to Autozone and ask them to check the light and see what comes up. you may have drilled the hole to big and too much exhaust gas is geting to the o2 sensor
I also have the kidd racing header and I was planning on using the same defouler u are but I manage to find an angled defouler. I was running without it for a couple days and no light at first but the light did eventually come on. I installed the defouler and the light went out on it's own. I recommend getting the angled defouler. I can't recommend a place since I looked and couldn't find any but managed to get a used one.
the angled ones are good for our cars due to clearance issues but if you drill out the hole just a hair to much or the peice isnt long enough it will through a CEL. You are better off spending the money on the Defouler from a shop not Autozone. Also after you install it you have to reset the ecu by unhooking the battary.

Well I figure I should update this. I forgot about the thread. I first drove the car 20 min no cel. Next startup got the cel about 3 hours later. The next day I had cel. The day after that it went away and has been gone since. So the autozone ones seemed to work. Not sure why I had cel for a couple days and thats it.
idk either. My car never threw a CEL with my header. I installed the defouler and header at the same time and first start up, BAM no CEL
