--99SI harness on a 01GSR motor?--

--99SI harness on a 01GSR motor?--
I have a 01 GSR motor being ran by a 99 si ecu and harness.. Will there be a problem here?
Some say the butterflies will not open due to the fact that the computer does not control it and the harness does not have it wired inline.. Is this a big deal?
