I have DPR Stage 6 with a lot of additional options, and I am very happy with it.

DPR is much more expensive than portflow though....so its up to you.

I didn't mean I want to run 12s with JUST head work.. lol, I meant that was my overall goal. Dan Paramore (owner/founder of DPR) said that he made 220 whp on a gsr that was stock except for a dc header.. no vafc or hondata. He said the cams they put in it gave it a great amount of torque. Dan seems very knowledgable and professional. He gave me the impression that he cares about making his project a success rather than making money.

this part of ur last post makes no sense. if this GSR was stock except a DC header, then u said the cams put in huge torque. i find both these statements to b just a big fat lie. if it was that easy to make 220HP with a GSR with cams and header everyone would do it. most NA cars like mine would b 300HP based on that statement. i think DAN was blowin some smoke up ur ***. 220HP would equate to 190+ WHP, in a stock bottom end GSR w/H/Cams, i dont think so. im sure they do great work but to make a bold statement like that is really unreasonable.

I had my cylinder head done over at portflow and I am very happy with the results for the work.
Go with what you feel is best. look at all of the professional whose heads are done by Tom at Portflow.
I highly recommend Portflow

I'm more impressed with the pictures I've seen of DPR work than I am of portflow, and I'm not terribly impressed with the few figures I've seen from people with portflow heads. Maybe I just haven't seen the good stuff, but DPR stuff looks very serious!

listen.. you took my post wrong. This is what I meant to say: he took a gsr w/ dc header and then did the stage VI cylinder head work ALONG with cams/springs/retainers he also does some modification to the stock piston. Thats with a different intake manifold and bigger TB. 220 whp. Dan paramore is the one that did the head for the progress/vortech civic that just set the landspeed record @ 204 mph.

I'm sure all of these companies can do a good job, but I'd go with Portflow personally.

Pictures are just that just pictures. All that matters is how the head flows and the gain from the job itself.

so, basically, what he did was take a stock GS-R, put on a new intake manifold, throttle body, modified pistons and a completely bitchin' head along with a dc header and probably no intake box and made 220hp...calling it "stock with a header and headwork"? that's pretty...um...not special at all

edit: portflow

Ok not to sound like an *** but obviously if hes talking about someone that does work to the internals its implied that something was done. Even i figured out before i read further that this meant that everything else besides head work, cams and header was stock. EDIT- things like stock pistons, although modified.

So basically, nothing on that DPR motor was stock. Here's a cookie Dan.

220hp on a stock 1.8 block seems pretty good to me. DPR does awesome work, and have great customer service. If you notice, quite a few big named guys that are doing heads now used to work for Dan. I would recommend DPR anyday over the rest. for DPR
