i have an lsvtec turbo set up. i was wondering when im
full throttle and full boost i dont blow off nor do i have any brakes when i go to brake. the brakes stiff up real bad. and another reason i mite not be blowing off would be a bad bov i took that into consideration but any idea why this is happening?

^^^ what he said. Check all vacuum lines, especially those running to brake booster.

if your still running the stock check valve that went to your brake booster make sur eyou have it in the correct way. I know it sounds stupid but its somethign easy to mess up. ive done it LOL

IMO a vacuum manifold causes weird things like this to happen. try to keep it to a minimum on how much stuff you have running to it. Generally its always good to run the bov to its own vacuum source to ensure its opening and the brake booster likes alot of vacuum as well so try to keep that line dedicated or minimal things off of it.

make sure your vacuum manifold is before the check valve. and make sure the check valve is facing the right way.

when i ran mine, i put a 't' in the line to feed the vacuum manifold but BEFORE the checkvalve, make sure your feeding the vacuum manifold from between the engine and the checkvalve before it goes to the brake booster. next would be like mentioned above to see that the checkvalve is installed in the right direction.... did the bov work previously or is this all a brand new setup? if you could get us some good pictures of your vacuum lines then that would be a big help to us for tryin to diagnose this for you. hope this helps

try taking the brake booster out of the loop and giving it its own line directly to the IM. my buddy had this same problem, you dont want to tap into the brake booster it will actually ruin it.

Left to right it's: plug, BOV, boost solenoid/WG, boost gauge, "inlet" from the manifold:

That's what mine looks like. You **NEED** a working check valve between the brake booster and the intake manifold. NOTHING else should be in-between the brake booster and that check valve - nothing. The brake booster collects vacuum when you're idling or decellerating, which makes the brake pedal managable. This is why you have to really jam on the pedal when you brake-boost.

BTW I still don't have clamps on those hoses, and they've stayed on with 18psi...

ill get pictures as soon as i can but the brake booster is running off the vacum manifold. my wastegate hose is running off the throttle body vacum and the BOV hose is running off the intake manifold vacum i will try and get a bigger hose and run the brake booster striaght to the manifold

why are you trying to use the brakes when you are still at full throttle? of course they are going to be hard its just like stopping the car with no vacuum assist brakes, like when the car isnt running.

yeah, it is normal to not have power brakes if you are not in vaccum, like at full throttle or in boost at all. The only exception I can think of would be if you run an electric vaccum pump for your power brakes, then you would have power assist even under boost.

Your builder sounds like a real [misinformed] piece of work, lol. I've got a 1" master cylinder, teg booster, and itr brakes - along with that vacuum block. They're smooth as silk but will pull teeth fillings if I feel like it.

I guess maybe he's right - if you install it wrong like the OP probably did.

i pretty sure i need a check vavle or the check valve might be installed wrong. in this case would the check valve to the brake booster affect my BOV pressure becasue im not blowing off at all....and they runn off the same vacum manifold
