okay so my under dash wire harness has a short somewhere. i am positive its the part that goes to the fuel pump relay. so i want to replace the harness but someone told me there is two seperate ones. so which harness do i need. in other words which harness plugs into the fuel pump relay. someone has to know this please help me thanks

 

well, HOW do you know that is the issue? and what "part" are you talking about..

tell us what the issue is.. there is alot more to it than you think

 

Yeah, what made you come to the conclusion that your harness is shorting somewhere?

 

oh ok well im blowing fuses. the fuse box under the hood. its the top left fuse. when i try to start the car the fuse will blow out. and when that happens my fuel pump will not turn on. so i looked at the harness and there are wires corroded that go to the fuel pump relay. i tried taping up the wires but it didnt help.

 

well, you need to just replace those wires.. one at a time... that will be ALOT easier.. i mean ALOOOOOTTT easier, than replacing the whole harness... where exactly are the wires corroded at?

 

i only found one wire corroded. it goes to the main relay. i tried following it to see if it messed up and other wires but i cant see cuz of the dash. but i just bought a new harness a few mins ago. and yes it looks like a LOT of work. so i think im gonna take the dash off and just replace the bad wires. is there any threads that say how to take of the dash? ive never done it before

 

check out the FAQ.. i think i remember there being something in there..

you may just have to get a shop manual to help you out..

yeah..i have rewired that **** before under a few other cars.. i DID NOT like it.. way more trouble than its worth.. just replace the wire.. make sure you SOLDER your connections, and ALWAYS Heat Shrink it.. dont use electrical tape..
