idling and running like poop, low rpm, struggles to keep going.
ok, pretty built single cam. needed valve adjustment did that, valves were not making any noise after I was done with them
Then, around the timing belt/adjustable camgear area was making loud higher pitched whining noise. decided it would be a bad idea to drive it around. I just let it idle to see if it would go away. (it was about freezing temperature) and the adj cam gear slipped and either advanced or retarded 10 deg, I dont remember. I set it back to 0 on the camgear(thats what it was set at before)
now it runs like 300-400rpm, whining noise is still there, I have quadruple checked my valve adjustments and they are right on (intake between .007-.009; exhaust .009-.011)
any ideas. I am up at school in an apartment and have the basic ratchet tools but no power tools
any ideas or help is very appreciated, thank you.

oh and the timing belt is brand new, the whole new motor swap or built single cam was done over this past summer.
Sounds like you answered your own question? Motor ran fine, cam gear slipped, set cam back, cars runs like ****......hmmm this isnt to hard to figure out? Sounds like you have some bent valves.
Also check your timing marks, when the cam gear slipped i wouldnt be surprised if the belt skipped too. Then when you set it back to 0 its still way off time.
So compression test will tell if I have bent valves or not? its just it was making the noise even after I adjusted the valves....but before the cam gear slipped. I am thinking either
1. I skipped a tooth or two on the belt
2. I bent some valves in one way or another.
I am pretty sure I am either going to fix the car and sell it or just part it out. I have over 2k in a single cam vtec head and am making **** for power and my tuner has probably one of the highest HP b-series in the world and tunes everything so its not him.

so just did a compression test with harborfreight compression tester
cyl 1 110
cyl 2 100
cyl 3 100
cyl 4 120
talked to the tuner and he said its not great but its not bad either. next step is to make sure everything is tdc and put the belt back on, after its done raining outside. I should put some pics of my car up just for fun.
