Icon2 WHY ARE MY BRAKE LIGHTS NOT LIGHTING UP???

i have a 96 integra gsr and the brake lights dont light up..i already checked the back light fuse,the brake sensor,and the bulbs...is there something i'm missing??? thanx 804....

Is the brake sensor you are referring to the one located near the pedal?

yes..it's above the brake pedal...

Ok, How did you check the switch? Did you try replacing it with a known working one or did you bypass it?

the same problem stumped me for a long time, it turned out there was a plug under my plastics by my driver quarter panel and one of the wires was loose from the plug, so we had to rig it up to stay..


what we did was pull the switch out so the lights are on constantly, get a test wire and look for the wire that runs along side the driver side, under the plastics, and we kept pushing the pointy end of the test light through the wire to see if if was getting power, then we slowly went about a foot at a time down the wire til we found the culprit..
