Icon2 1998 Civic + ITR rear sway bar

I got an ITR 22mm rear sway bar and Hardrace EK9 endlinks for my 98 Civic hatch. I noticed that the hole where endlink is supposed to be bolted to is way too big. So the question is,
Should I get rubber bushing that goes in the hole, or do i have to get a metal adaptor ring???
If i gotta get the ring, where can i purchase it??? Thanks

Do you have pictures ? I dont fully understand what your saying.

I installed a type R 22mm sway bar on my 97 hatch no problem. I used the Stock civic end links from honda bolted perfectly on the rear control arm.

The ek9 and regular civic will have the same rear control arm , so it should bolt up.

But Maybe im misunderstanding your post.

You may have to use Blox/ASR style spherical endlinks. The OEM style links (= your Hardrace ones) may probably be to short/thin on bolt for use with the ITR sway (sway endlink hole is different style compared to EK sways) (one of the reasons I personally always advise to mount an EK style sway like the 22mm EK9 one).

In any case you should use the OEM ITR endlink rubbers (so the rubbers that go into those large endlink holes of your ITR sway) or you can buy ASR metal substitutions for those rubbers.

If you have a 22mm ITR sway (and not the 23mm JDM ITR sway) you'd need following OEM part nrs:
- 52312-ST7-Z00COLLAR, STABILIZER INNER BUSH END 4 needed
- 52316-ST7-Z00 bush, stabilizer end 2 needed

However, it seems it may be so that spherical endlinks' bolts won't fit through the OEM bushings in which case the metal ones should be used: OEM ITR endlink-to-sway bolt is 8mm, spherical endlink bolt should be 10mm (EK style endlink bolt thickness)

When using spherical endlinks it might be necessary to mount aftermaket lower arms to fit the (thicker than OEM?) endlink bolts but I'm not sure (I don't think so).

I think i'm having the same trouble. Buddy put a itr sway on his '00 si but the stock endlinks were rusted to the stock lca. now the new blox end link bolts are bigger and dont fit into the sway bar. not sure if it's the design of the blox brand or just need stock si end links to fit. or the metal ring insert.

This I don't understand. Blox spherical endlinks normally fit into an ITR sway.

Are you sure it's an ITR sway? If it's an EK9 sway it is possible that the spherical endlink bolts are too big for the sway holes.

Thanks, kristo! I got all those parts except for the rubber inserts.
I think, I found what I need:

I strongly suspect spherical endlink bolts are not thicker than OEM but longer for sure, so you must use these with ITR/EG swaybars due to the different style of endlink hole of those bars.

he's using fixed oem replacement end links not spherical. Yes it's ITR rear sway. my eg paddle shaped end links fits in the holes but not the blox.

OEM EK style endlinks' bolts are too short to fit in ITR/EG sway endlink holes, spherical endlinks have to be used on EK cars.

what was used on the stock EK9? have any pics of OEM EK9 end links in the sway bar? I can't find any to compare.

it's more than just the length of the bolt, it's the bushing it wont fit through.

EK9 endlinks = SI endlinks, bolts are too short to fit through ITR sway endlink holes.

ASR/Blox spherical endlinks' bolts fit through ITR sway endlink holes, maybe these won't fit through the OEM sway endlink bushings in wich case you'd have to use the metal bushings from ASR or others (see kingmotorsports.com link above).

OEM ITR endlink-to-sway bolt is 8mm, spherical endlink bolt should be 10mm (EK style endlink bolt thickness).

I'm trying to get those bushing as well
according to A Spec Racing

I can use 99-00 SI endlink w/ the ASR bushing
however seems like its out of stock right now

so if I order Function7's bushing
can I use my stock SI endlink
I'm just confused

No, the function 7 adaptors are too wide, so the stok endlink bolt is not long enough. Maybe a-spec are different, i'd wait for those if i were you.
