GSR Intake Mani Question...
yes...i searched...all i found where old threads that didnt answer my question.
Im running an OBD1 GSR right now...im planning on boosting in the near future...and i know most people just swap out the IM...but from what ive learned the IAB's help with low end torque. Is it a bad idea to run the GSR IM with boost or not? Yes. It will be tuned correctly...most likely by Innovative Motorworks.
thanks for any help you guys might have.

I've seen turbo applications done on GS-R engines with the stock intake manifold, you can always upgrade but if it's tuned correctly you shouldn't have any problems.
Well designed IM's such as the Edelbrock and SK2 manis seem to be able to boost both the high and low end powerband despite being a single runner design. I'd say for a turbo build an aftermarket mani designed for high flow rates would be important to include in your build.
thanks for the info guys...i appreciate it. But...if im just doing a budget turbo build i.e: stock motor, ARP studs and all appropriate turbo parts, is the GSR mani sufficient?
Yes, the OEM intake manifold has been used on numerous builds with good results. An "ITR style" manifold will only help you, though. The Blox IM is a fairly cheap and effective option.

VictorX is good for turbo (short runers, large plenum) but it also is more of a high rpm piece, there website says it performs best at 7k-10k. I run it on my 400whp ls/vtec, very nice piece.
alright cool...i've only ever dealt with like LS motors and SOHC stuff...i just picked up the GSR a couple weeks ago. thanks for all your help guys!
