I was sitting in my Accord in a parking lot and heard a loud BOOM. Sounded like something hit the back of my car. Got out and noticed my window was in a million pieces. Nothing had hit it, it just shattered on its own. All the glass is still intact, but i feel if i touch it, the glass will end up in my backseat.



Hopefully my insurance is gonna cover it.

 

Yes, I have heard of this happening. Not very often, though. Thankfully, it's safety glass.

 

I see snow on the ground.

Cold temps outside and warm inside can break glass. Generally, something still needs to at least tap the glass for it to happen though.

 

yea, it was about 28 degree out and i was in the car with it running and the heat on. Wasnt super cold outside and wasnt really hot inside. Nothing touched the glass. I was told that if the window had a crack or chip, it could also cause this to happen, even if the crack isnt noticeable. Insurance covered it and was replaced the next day
