euro racing pix...
I'd like to know...but I want two guesses first
1) Better aerodynamics (which I doubt)
2) To allow more contact with other cars without blowing a tire or bending a rim. I think it's called a bead locker...

Nope. They run such high performance pads on such fast tracks, that the rear brakes tend to drop of out ideal brake temperatures causing disrupted brake bias toward the front. The cover helps KEEP THE BRAKES HOTTER!!

the rear wheel is like so that the brakes heat/cool at the same pace.
Front brakes are going to heat up and cool a lot faster than the rears are and that would screw up the brake bias.

i thouight after passing a certain point of center of gravity your handling gets worse, so how are these cars slammed but have amazing handling, also why do they use 18's instead of 15' or 16's?

Because they have 300+hp and 250+lb ft tq, and they arent drag racing where the initial start is slowed by big wheels, and they're at a point where sidewall stiffness is necessary because of very high spring rates and overall trick suspension. Besides, those 17's/18's probebly only weigh about 15lbs each anyway.

Nope, they were for keeping in the heat.

"These covers keep heat in the rear brakes, which otherwise cool more quickly than th fronts due to their smaller mass and give inconsistent brake bias and performance."
