Engine HP limits
Was wondering what horse power limit (ballpark) with a good tune this motor can handle safely.
B18b1 stock sleeve block
eagle rods
cp 9-1 compression forged pistons
acl bearings
freshed up block
arp rods studs
arp head studs
stock crank
crower stage 2 turbo cams with springs and retainer kit
stock valves. (reconditioned)
no port work
Just wondering from yalls previous experiance

There's no clear cut answer for this question. Could make 200whp and spin a bearing due to wrong clearances. Could make 500whp and last for a long time. If your just looking to have fun, i wouldnt go over 300whp, just to be safe.
This is correct. Some make 500 with stock sleeves but I sure as hell wouldnt do it. Lots of people will tell you go to 400 or so since you have forged internals
Personally i have been running right at 320hp on a completely stock B18b1 for a few years now. This is on 16psi using a garrett t3/t4 to4e 60 trim turbo. I am definitely not easy on the car either.. It catches hell.

i mean all i have is a B18c with rods and pistons making 460. and its perfectly safe. 500 is my limit on pump. its all about getting a good tune. i wouldnt worry to much about your hp limit. you will probably never get to max it out. you'll be fine
its hard to say what the limit is, the limit would really be what the tuner is capable of. But i would stay around 300-350WHP, that way the motor should last a long tiem and you have less chance of breaking things outside of the motor (CV Joint, Tranny, Mounts, etc).
Your goals are reasonable for your setup. I'm in about the same situation: stock sleeve and built bottom end, and i'm currently shy of 400whp. It is a fun amount for now, but i plan to push it a little further this summer. The limitation you face is your fuel...not that you wont have enough, but that it won't handle a great deal of stress. I would still say 400whp is within range. Good luck with your setup
