Make a valve spring compressor out of a big C clamp. Attach a slotted socket to the end to access the keepers. Cheap and works just fine.

Use a pocket screwdriver with a dab of grease to hold the keepers until they fit in the groove.

^ yep I did the same thing. Worked pretty well but you need to take your time. I also have the right tool for this job. Bought it from eBay back in 05. I can sell it to you cuz I no longer need it

ruben, where are you located and how much do you want for it?

I rented a spring compressor, and it didn't fit in the head.. I do have a clamp big enough but I don't have any slotted sockets, got a pic of that setup? I have 1/2 done, now I'm down to the double springs and it's a bit harder then the previous side of the head ya know?!?! lol.. nice to meet you guys too btw!

the typical spring compressors wont work as there isnt enough room to get down there on the valvesprings. I bought the snap-on overhead valve spring compressor. its like $150 but after lookin at it could be made for fairly cheap. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....&group_ID=1575
