Default which timming mark goes where???

i have a 93 accord lx that i put a head gasket in & cant seem 2 get the timming right. theres a RED "T" on the flywheel when u look through the sight hole & another dash be4 it i believe. so how or where do i line stuff up @?

The easiest thing to do is go by the marks on the timing belt crank drive gear (there is an arrow that must point up to align with the mark on the block) and also on the harmonic pulley (crank pulley) there is a grove on the block side edge of the pulley that aligns with a mark on the block. When you have the crank shaft in this position it is at TDC on cylinder number 1. Now get the cam gear arrow straight up with the little mark on the inside edge of it aligned with the top edge of the head surface and you are TDC on the compression stroke.

so is the mark on the block visible from the bottom if i were to look under the car 2 line up the crankshaft pully to the mark on the block. i have the cam pully lined up just like u said but maybe the crank is off just a few degrees

it is visible looking straight at the pulley or from top, not from bottom.

theres no way u can look from the top & see the back of the pully or the mark on the block. i pulles the wheel off & all i see is a divet in the balancer but nothing on the block cuz of the plastic shield over the timing belt & whatever else. where it the mark on the block if im looking straight on @ the crank pully?
