I boosted my civic and i cant figure it out? What am i doing wrong? Here is the pics, Other then the wastegate is now installed. it is exactly like in the pics. So what is wrong? is it fuel? Im new to turbo so i dont know what to do.

Where is your charge piping?
Do you have an intercooler?
I cant tell if u have an oil to ur turbo or not!

 

If I go to the hardware store and get flex exhaust piping for boost lines will it work then? I thought you didnt need them if you ran a no intercooler system? I need it to boost. I'm supposed to race this dumb *** guy with a stupid super charged cobra mustang guy for pinks. haha new mustang here I come!

sure doesnt look like any IC piping or any oil line to the turbo. Look at the FAQS that (jdm inc) posted for you and figure out everything you need to turbo your car. It looks to me like all you have is a short ram,manifold, turbo and fittings for the turbo.

 

someone said somthing about the turbo needing oil? the turbo started making a noise so i popped the hood and the turbo was glowing red, i dunno why? so will i just add oil and it will work? I wills have boost then? i am new to turbo.

 

your going to mess you turbo and possibly your engine up. you need feed and return lines. Intercooler piping and an Intercooler. Your turbo ran hot because there isnt any oil running through it to keep it cool. You definitely need a TUNE. Keep like it is now and the only thing you'll be boosting is your car on the back of the tow truck because of lack of parts

 

i'm pretty sure it's a bad muffler bearing causing the turbo not to spool

So you guys are telling me that without charge piping from the turbo to an intercooler to the intake manifold that there will be no boost built?
Why? then there is no intake for the throttlebody to take in air?Im confused

Yeah rite what do you know about turbos ne ways.... you only have 665 posts.

 

the turbo gives the throttle body air when it spools and blows the air from the turbo through the charge pipe through the intercooler then out the intercooler up to the throttle body into the intake down through the intake into the head. BANG.. Instant POWER. you need a oil line hooked up to the turbo. without oil going into the top of the turbo and draining back into the pain out the bottom of the turbo you got nothing

 

Also you need a vacum line hooked up to the wastegate once you have all your other problems fixed for the wastegate to even open. !!!!

 

Hahahahahah! are u serious man? Well first you should put rocks into your valvecover that will help with oil flow

 

honestly i cant believe you bolted the turbo, manifold and wastegate up and actually thought it would be fast. theres more to it. if you knew anything. Just anything About a car/turbo you would know how to hook it up.

 

no to mention you need some kind of engine management.. Bigger injectors.. and ALOT of other things. you my as well go buy that mustang your racing or just give him your car.

 

Im glad you guys think this is a joke. I thought h-t was a forum to help you out. But i guess people rather bash me then help me. I think im gonna just swap in a d16y8 it will be as faster then the turbo y7 motor
For those that did help thanks alot. I just got the kit the other day and am new to boost so i didnt know exactly how to do it properly.
