Default gsr head on b16 block

so i have a b16 long block and a pnp gsr head and was looking at the compression calculator to see what compression this would yield. it comes out to 10.8:1 comp would this be a good set up with skunk2 tuner stage 1 cams seem like by the numbers it should be very close to a ctr motor and should yield the same numbers if not more anyone do this set up before

It wouldn't have the top end or redline of the CTR since you're running a shorter block and rods.

huh umm if im not mistaken the b16 has almost a perfect r/s ratio if anything it will have more of a top end then a ctr the ctr is a destroked b18 they did that to get a higher r/s ratio and better reving capabilities

It'll have similar displacement but different crankshaft positions where the rod and crank pin arm form a 90 degree angle. This will change the effective powerband somewhat. Weight aside, longer rods decrease friction, center the combustion force more precisely onto the crank arm and tend to move the powerband upwards. The "perfect" stroke/rod ratio depends on what rpm's you want the motor to make max power at and what torque vs. HP levels you want or need for your vehicle. How much power you gain compared to the weight you add with a taller block is one of the more important factors to consider with rod length. As you increase rod length, the benefits are eventually cancelled out by both vehicle and rotating assembly weight. The lighter everything is, the longer the rod you can use without decreasing power.

It will work fine. I would use bigger cams.

Why does this same question keep popping up?

My motor is set up like that. It came like that when I bought the car I'm planning on getting a b16 head doe cause my gsr head went out cause I never got my valves adjusted. The motor was running fine and mines red line was 8400 rpm.
