Default ok, too loud..wasted $$$$

Earlier, I told you guys that I was going straight pipe with no resonator or cat. Now it's WAY to loud, and the Greddy muffler went. SO, now I have to get a new exhaust system, snice people look at me everywhere I go..It sucks. So what exhuast would you guys recommend, that is high performace, not that loud, and low profile. I'm getting real sick of spending all this cash, but I have to now. I'm going to put on my old cat or put a high flow one on. Budget up to $600

Thanks

in no particular order...

Comptech
Tanabe Hyper Medallion or RM (a bit louder)
Apexi WS or N1 (a bit louder)
DC Sports
Greddy SP or Evo (a bit louder)
ITR
RS*R if you can find it
Thermal R&D

the ones that are a bit loud will probably still be quieter than your straight pipe w/o resonator and busted muffler...

i don't believe apexi n1 or tanabe racing medallion, if thats what you meant by RM would qualify as not to loud and low profile. both have large tips and are considerably louder than a lot of the others you listed. the rest i agree with though and it would be quieter than a straight pipe with the busted muffler.

comptech, apexi ws, greddy evo, itr, rs*r (good luck with that one).

yeah I know their a bit louder and less low profile.. but he also said high performance.. I think the Tanabe Racing Medallion and Apexi N1 would outperform say the Apexi WS... but yes it will be louder... I even said so in the post in parenthesis that its louder.. but think about it. this guy has a straight pipe/hollowed cat, no resonator and a busted muffler.. even the RM and N1 would be quieter than what he has now....

if your going to talk about large tips.. I wouldn't consider my Greddy Evo to have a small tip.. I wish it did though... I used to have a Greddy SP and it was a bit quieter.. the tip was also about 4" though on the Greddy SP... I think any one the ones listed would be quieter than a non resonated straight pipe w/ busted muffler setup.. but yeah the first ones I listed (not the OR's) are the quieter of the bunch..

What about Hytech exhausts? I've heard they are quieter then most and flow well.. By the way, I have no cat right now..So no cat, no resonator, and blown muffler= NOISE+COPS.

Is your piping mandrel bent? If so just get new muffler, resonator. With install, def < $600
If want quiet, cheap, flows well, get a dynomax superturbo. I had it and I liked it alot, nice and quiet.

trendsetter: haha yeah I remember my friend had the Apexi Dunk super megaphone or whatever on her teg and you could hear her coming down the streets before she pulled up to my house the tip was huge on the Dunk too...

i used a thermal 3" for 2 months and i thought it was the loudest exhaust i have ever heard. granted it's not the raspy loud you get accustomed to with imports but it's a deep, droning, resonating note. anyway, it still annoyed the hell out of me. only way i would use a thermal is for the 3" piping, chop the muffler off and put something quieter on there.

HyTech exhaust is very impressive.

I have the Greddy EVO. Pretty quiet since I went turbo. Not too loud N/A.

A little on the costly side but not when you compare it to other car's exhausts.

Basicly if you want the best exhaust your going to have to shell out a few bucks...

Hey man go with the Apexi World Sport. It's very quiet, i can't even hear exhaust sound until i reach 6500 rpms, and it looks like a stock muffler with a larger tip.

I have the Greddy PE, its really quiet, unless you get on it. It was never loud until I added my Carsound Cat and even now its probably quieter than a lot of other exhausts.

Either that an RSR if you can find one or I heard DC exhaust is relatively quiet.

I would get a new Skunk2 as they come with a silencer. My Greddy PE is damn loud now as all the packing has blown out...Skunk 2 for me next summer. Don't want to put it on for winter.
