Default 2000 Accord question.....

Hello...Thanks for looking and thanks even more if you can help!

I have a friend with a 2000 Accord and he has a question about getting a new stereo for his car. He has the volume control switch on the steering wheel and he wanted to know if there was an aftermarket headunit that supports using that volume control switch. Is there maybe an adapter he could buy or is he just out of luck?
Thanks in advance!
(Oh...I tried posting this in the Audio\Security forum...but I don't think anybody ever goes there... )

ALOT of new cd player have steering wheels control switches. i dont think they sell the holder alone. Neither i dont they they are such good idea after all. the steering will get hot and stuff, You'll knock it around when you steering and the clamp is universe fit--> wont fit perfectly, and what about messing up the finish in the leather steering wheel? Just my opinion.

As far as I know the best thing to do is go to a reputable shop and they can rewire the steering wheel controls to work with anything. This is custom (read:not cheap) and for most people a waste of money.

Thanks for the info
I'll let him know what I found. I gues he is just going to have to deal with it an aftermarket remote or just keep his OEm stereo...

Anybody else have any suggestions?
TIA

my girlfriend has the same thing in her coupe, is he going to run a complete audio system or he just wants a cool head unit? cuz you can keep the stock head unit and still run amplifiers to subs and mids and highs...thats what im doing with her car. my .o2 cents
