I just installed the Xentec hid kit I bought off ebay on my 06 civic and both lighta flicker... They don't go out they just flicker (getting dimmer and brighter and moving up and down slightly)... I searched this problem and lots of people seem to be having problems with Xentec, saying its a bad ballast or ground/connection... I doubt its a ground because my kit was plug and play and the plugs fit snugly... Has anyone experienced this and how can I fix it? Should I just get new ballasts? Thanks

But both ballasts to be bad at the same time? Thats somewhat unlikely don't you think?
What do you guys think of these HID capacitors?

I've had positive experiences with plug n play on both my accord and 2 of my integras so thats why I went that route again... This is the first time I've run into problems with it. Anyone else have experience with this?

I've always used OEM headlights with the hids and adjusted mine properly as to not blind oncoming traffic, but I know what you mean, I've seen ricers with poorly adjusted aftermarket headlights running hids and they're horrible

Silverstars are always an option as I've run them in all my vehicles for a while, despite them burning out. But the extra light is worth that most of the time.
I'm not the only person that shares my sentiment.
You act like you drive in thick *** fog in a thick wooded area off road. Do it right or don't do it at all.
What K color would you get?

I have HID's with out projector lenses. I don't really care about other people, but at least I'm not hypocritical beacause when someone else has bright lights I just don't stare right at their lights and I'm fine and I don't complain.
I want everyone to see well so their HID's don't bother me.
I don't think my lights are much brighter if at all then someone with silver star ultra halogens. It's getting harder to tell who has their high beams on and who has silverstar ultras. I think they have their high beams on and then they do put their high beams on. They just have good halogens in

To make use of the greater light output of HIDs, HID optics provide a wider and more evenly distributed beam pattern. The actual amount of light directly in front of the car is the same as with halogen bulbs in halogen optics.
There isn't an easy button for better visibility, other than using better optics. If a retrofit is not going to happen (for whatever reason, cost, time, new car warranty, etc...), then supplemental headlamps would be the only real way to improve visibility.
Silverstar Ultra, 1,450 to 1,700 lumens, depending on bulb type

I would get whatever was best sight wise, I could care less what it looks like.
As for the nerdy stuff on the better visibility and such, I understand that for sure. I see it with my truck all the time, even turning the fogs on makes a big difference in how far I can really see past the range of light. But for some reason her low beams totally suck, while the high beams are just fine. So just something to take care of that would be preferred, if it's an aftermarket bulb that's fine as well and I'd love some input on that if possible.
I had yellow Nokya bulbs in my EG and it was sick, but I'm not sure how their other bulbs are. The yellow bulbs were fo' decoration, didn't pay much attention to light!
Her grad present is me installing fogs, but the kit is still 300 beans plus its too cold to tear into it currently! But that should help her out enough I'm hoping!
Thanks!
