Default For those with aftermarket lightened flywheels...

For those of you with aftermarket, ultra light flywheels...
Upon startup... or during running, do you hear any strange noises ?

Did you properly torque the flywheel and pressure plate bolts? Blue loctite as well?

Well, I did not do the install... it was actually on a Focus, which is a huge PITA to work on.

A local Ford Dealership did it... and I have posts in the focus forums, but I was hoping for some insight into this unusual sound from people that have aluminum flys.

The sound goes with turning over the car... Sorta like when starting a Honda, but much louder.

My fly has been lightened (stock), so is my whole reciprocating assembly, but it doesn't sound anything like this.

Ohh I see. I don't think I can give much insight on the Focus. I'd have nothing to suggest but an inspection of the parts. And I have heard about the trnas removal hassles on Foci before PITA. I hope it is nothing major

Strange because I am considering buying a Focus for my work car....only because I can get X plan and 0% financing.
