99 accord 4cyl. Auto ulev
-randomly shuts off. Will be driving fine and cut off
- was thinking ignition switch, but I am throwing cel's 1167 and 1166, which unless I am mistaken is both o2 sensors, right? Why would that be? car will drive great then just shut off, sometimes it will start right up, other times it takes a few minutes! It doesn't happen everyday, but some days it will happen 3 times in one day!

Lmk if you have a theory, I am ready to get this figured out! Thanks in advance!

 

could be ignition switch, main relay, alternator. i believe if the 02 sensor goes bad, then get really hot, it will cause the car to shut off, preventative action.

 

Right, well the car cut off today after running for about 5 minutes, and has done it without being warm yet. Doubt it is the alternator, as the car starts up fine. This probelm has been going on for a long time, it is just so random,that it has been hard to fix

 

whats the return policy on o2 sensors? change those out to see if problem goes away if not return them.

 

The only real problem with that is it will go days or weeks in between acting up like
this! Like for instance, it hasn't happened in a week, but happened twice today!

 

can it start right back up after it dies?

 

Sometime it will start back up, and sometimes it takes a few tries or a little time

 

Anyone? Lil help here LOL

 

Had the same issue with a 98 V6. Replaced the ignition and resoldered the relay. Has fixed the issue.
