Well yesterday driving around I did a decnent pull from 2nd to 3rd. As I ****** into 3rd I noticed a significant power loss and a highly increased idle. I got back home and noticed that I cracked a weld on my manifold. Had it re-tig'd all except a small hair line crack I didnt see until today. However aside from that I noticed that the top port on my wastegate is creating a vacuum leak as I am not running a boost controller. Is The car will still drive and run fine as well as create boost, yet still create a large vacuum leak because of the wastegate. Im pretty familiar with turbo charged engines but have not seen this particular situation caused by the top port being vented to the open air. Can someone shine some light on this.

If it was used, or assembled by an idiot, the diaphragm could have been pinched. Near full extension it will eventually rip. Otherwise I've seen very cheap hose get torn near the edge of the WG's nipple.

Ive had it for about 2 months and has worked flawlessly. It just started giving me this problem when the manifold cracked. I havent had much time to really look into the car but whatever I find tomorrow ill post, maybe help the next guy.
most likely you have a diaphragm issue so in vaccuum its pulling through the diaphragm and then the top port. but your wastegate should not have vaccuum running to it in the first place. run the side port to the turbo and see if that helps.
either way, disassembling the wastegate is probably a good idea.
