New intake manifold gasket, and now it won't idle
Hi All,
This is my first post to this forum. I've never had to post because there's usually a thread that fixes my problem, but now I need some help!
I replaced my intake manifold gasket due to a gasket leak and a CEL 71.
Anyway, I completed the job, reinstalled everything, bled the coolant out of the bleeder, and the motor starts fine from cold, but when it warms up, it will not idle.
I've eliminated the FITV because there is no air flow through its port in the TB once the cooling fans switch on.
I have it narrowed down to two things. The IACV and the idle bleeder adjustment. Thanks to this forum, I found that you should jump the SRS plug while adjusting base idle with the IACV unplugged. I got the idle screw to adjust down to about 500rpm without the IACV plug plugged in. I reset the ECU, plugged everything back in, and took the jumper out of the SRS plug.
The engine started without throttle, and I waited for the ECU to set base idle with IACV until the cooling fans cycled on and off. When I went to apply some throttle and released, the revs dropped below where the car would idle.
What am I missing? Could it be the IACV? I checked the wire to the IACV, and it shows 12v where it's supposed to be.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated!
Tom
