What kind of motor and trans are you running now? What are your plans with the setup now and in the future? Need some more details and information before being able to provide you with an accurate answer.

rebuilding is going to cost alot of money. mine just went out and i was quoted 2600 to rebuild it with a new 2nd. Your best bet man is to get a used tranny. they usually come with a 90 day warranty. they go for about 800-1000 and add another 400 or so for labor. Resurface the flywheel and put in a new clutch while your at it. 5 spds work too you might be able to source one for a little cheaper.

This is why I rebuild myself.... On my 3rd tranny now... just can't hold the instant torque power of a S/C K24

The tranny you decide should be based on current and future mods

what exactly keeps breaking in your tranny?

the thing with used trannys is that you're risking buying one in the same condition as yours. i'd look into repairing your current tranny before shopping for another used one.

I got an ep3 5sp on my type s.

Its stronger than the type s 6sp, and longer ratios. Better for my set up.

We went through a ton of trannys, so dont buy a new one becasue it will eventually break.

Rebuilding trannys FTL...we got screwed over.
