EF wont start if weather is to cold!

Default EF wont start if weather is to cold!

THANKS HT. PRBLEM SOLVED! I CHAGED THE IGNITION SWITCH N THAT DID IT, SOLDER WER CRACKED N WIRES WER NOT MAKING GOOD CONTACT.



wuz good HT, need sum help plz. So this is what i do to start the car, I take a hair dryer and aim it at the ignition wires for 30sec (cold days 50-40 dagrees) behind the steering wheel by the wiper/turn/haz switch, turns on fine after of course untill it get cold inside the car again!

Things checked/changed

starter
batteries (yellow/red-tops)
fuel relays
ECU's
alternators

I dnt knw what else 2 chx plz leave comments.

If heating up the plug wires does the trick, you might try replacing those.

So if the car won't start until you heat up the INTERIOR then the problem must therefore be in the interior. If I was a betting man I'd say it's either your ignition switch your main relay.

I think I'll try the ignition nxt, if the weather gets better in N.Y.(L.I.-EXT.21) THANKS.

The ignition switch is not common and not that "easy". The Main Relay is very common and quite easy. Try the main relay first. Once you take it out you can open it up and see if the soldered points have separated. I've found this on 1 crx and 1 accord. I just resoldered the points back together and voila... car started like a dream.

You need to give more specific details. What exactly happens when you turn the key? Does the starter crank the engine, but the engine just won't start? Is the starter not cranking, and instead you just get one click? A series of rapid clicks? No clicking at all?

Main relay typically does NOT work when it is HOT....because the solder points are separated...

what he said ^. isolate whether the ign switch is the problem (won't crank), or if its the main relay (cranks but won't start and run on its own)
