Don't feel like takin it to a shop to pay all the fees and what not, so hopefully someone has the answer :D.

My heat works perfectly, but my A/C only works a tiny bit. I tried using the refrigerant stuff and the sealer, but it didn't work. I believe the last thing I used was the sealer and when I went to use it you hear a loud WOOOOSSSS air sound then it stopped. I'm guessing a leak?

Anyone have a diagram or something or a cheap fix? Thanks

 

Add some refrigerant that contains a leak detecting dye. The dye will help you locate the refrigerant leak and therefore tell you what must be replaced. Then have the system drained professionally, fix the leak and replace the receiver/dryer, and then have the system evacuated and charged professionally.

 

my suggestion to you is find refrigerent with dye and put it in the system. Get out the uv light and find your leak. you're gonna want to get a set of gauges and look at your pressures as well. Good luck, but my honest opinion is to take it to a professional who will stand behind their work.

 

I used the pressure gauges and filled it perfectly. The pressure was fine and I used the dye and found no leak. I don't really have the money right now to get it fixed cause I know they'll charge out my *** to fix it, rather me doing it myself. Why I wanna know EXACTLY what I might be dealing with , before I do it. I have until it gets warmer out, but wouldn't mind workin on it now

 

Is the compressor turning on? What are the high and low side pressures?

 

Pretty sure the compressor is turning on, but not sure if it's even working properly. I mean the A/C works a tiny bit, but in constant heat it doesn't do anything :S. I was thinking it might be the piping, but not sure.

 

You really need to pay someone who knows what they are doing.

Unfortunately, you may have a difficult time finding someone who will work on it for you since you put an off-the-shelf sealant into the system. These sealants can ruin a refrigerant recovery machine, requiring thousands of dollars in repairs.

Air conditioning is not a cheap system to repair when it breaks; it never has been and never will be. Trying to appy an inexpensive fix where one isn't applicable will always get you into trouble. In other words, if you want cold air, you're going to have to pay for it.
