I have a 1997 civic ex with a b20 block and b18 type r head its fully built and turboed pushing 20psi. I have been having a problem when i get on my car kinda hard. It builds boost fine but when vtec is supposed to kick in it spits and sputters and i loose all my power. I have check all connections to the ecu and the vtec sylenoid. If anyone has any clue to what could be going on please give me some tips thanks.

sounds like it wasnt tuned for vtec..........

 

When was the last time you replaced your fuel filter? What did you use for tuning? Who tuned it?

 

its tuned for vtec its drag and drift tuned it ran perfect i havnt changed the fuel filter since i did the work to the car wich was about a year and a half ago

 

probably needs new muffler bearings.

the tune is not correct check ur mapping on the high cam side not the low cam

ok idk if u tune ur car or u take it to someone but i use hondata pro and chrome, there are tables for low cam and high cam, which u can add more fuel or remove fuel at certain rpm its best be done on a dyno and toggle real time so u can see where you problem occurs because right when it starts to sputter u can see the area on the table where the problem is occurring.
