I currently have a P1457 code on my car.

I have read some past threads that indicate taht this might be caused by the gas tank being overfilled when filling up. If that were the case, how long would it take the code/light to disappear? The light has been always on for two months except for 30 miles after I cleared it.

I'm not sure if it is related, but when I remove my gas cap to fill the car up, there is a slight sound of a vacuum escaping.

I have the Haynes manual for my car, but the troubleshooting for the code is a light over my head.

Can anyone provide any input to helping remove me solve my problem?

 

goto autozone for them to reset the computer and then see if the code comes back again

oh waitamin, you said it's not on after you cleared it? update us when it does come back on w/ the same code...

weird that you waited 2 months to have it cleared... autozone does it for free

as for the hissing sound when you remove your cap... sounds normal to me since other vehicles w/ a semi-closed system and a charcoal canister does the same thing
