H22 auto Tensioner to H23 manual?
the h23 tensioner is different than the h22 tensioner. the h23 uses a spring loaded pulley while the h22 uses a hydraulic p.o.s. when doing this conversion, you replace all the h22 tensioner stuff with h23 tensioner parts. it's a great conversion. makes taking the timing belt off an easy job.
OK.. so what's all needed? Cause I tried this once with little success.. Actually.. I used the tensioner and parts off an F22 which should be the same. Thanks.
i'm not sure if f22 tensioner parts are the same as h23. matter-of-fact, if you had little success trying this, i'm sure they're not the same. it should be easy if you have all the right parts. you'll need these parts....... http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...G+BELT+%282%29 picture numbers: 10, 18, 27, 30, 32, 31, 34, 25, 26, 19 and maybe 13 (i can't remember if the h22 is the same). it sounds like a lot but it will be less than $100.
So what your saying is that you'll need more then just the tensioner? So You'll also need the metal piece that actually pushes up or down the the circular disks that tighten the belt?
Lemme give you two GREAT links that tell you how to do this mod:

ok n/m mine was a auto i got the h23 parts and put them all on but it was a bitch to get the belt on, should it be like that? and how exactally do you tighten it?
Ok,ive done this, the f22/23 parts will not work. You need the parts from a h23 block only.Youll need the the actuall tensiner wheel for the timing belt and counterbalance belt, the bracket shaped like a letter "L" thats bolted on the block, the long bolt that holds both tensioner wheels on the block, the tensioner spring, the bolt to lock the tensioner, and the little nipple on the block that holds the spring.the only parts youll use from the h22 block are the counterbalance tensioner spring and the bracket that the spring pulls on.It holds the counter balance belt tensioner wheel.you might have to also make a little pivot for the timing belt tensioner.Im guessing the h23/22oil pumps have it.i just cut the head of a commonly used 6mm bolt and used that on the threaded hole on the oil pump.Still working after 8000 miles for me <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmile.gif" BORDER="0">
