B16a MSD Miss
Have a CRX with a b16a, just installed an msd 6AL ignition box running off stock coil. MSD Works fine until about 5000 rpm when my v-tec hits then it starts to miss. Have gone over all wiring multiple times to insure a proper connection. As far as wiring what I have is the red lead from the msd hooked to the black/yellow distributor wire and the white lead going to the white/blue wire from distributor. Next the black wire from MSD to negative coil terminal and the orange from the MSD to positive coil terminal. All connections are soldered and shrink wrapped. Any ideas would be great.
Check all grounds. Test the red wire from the MSD box. Make sure there is 12v. Disconnect the coil wire from the cap and place the terminal 1/4" away from a vehicle ground. Disconnect the white MSD wire. Touch it to the ground and release it, watching the coil wire for spark. Replace the coil if there is no spark and retest. If there is spark with either coil, the MSD box is good.

Make sure you are using rosin core solder. I have seen it happen a few times where someone was soldering his new ignition to the wires behind the ignition rotor. The heat from holding the iron on the wire to be soldered too long destroyed his internal coil. Be careful when soldering in the dizzy.
Check your ignition timing, is it advanced past stock? Upgrading your ignition changes how combustion occurs in the motor. Ideally, it will slightly shorten the amount of time it takes the air/fuel charge to explode. When combustion happens faster, timing may need to be retarded somewhat. When VTEC engages, the timing is automatically advanced by the computer, often making a timing problem worse. Do you have any noticeable valve clicking coming from under the valve cover? Did you mess with anything else when this started? Were there any other problems before installing the MSD?

You may want to run a wider spark plug gap now that you have the box and coil. Using a more ideal plug gap creates a stronger spark, helps to reduce spark plug heat, and lengthens plug life. I'm using .054 on my B16 with MSD box and coil right now. MSD reps usually reccomend .050-.060 for the box and coil under 10.5:1 comp but some people have slight hiccups with .060 at idle. Only run high quality copper plugs with your setup. I'd say NGK standard, V-Power and Bosch copper are the only good choices with the V-powers being the best in many people's opinion. Your new ignition should support more aggresive timing than stock. Fill it with premium, get a timing light and see what it can do.
