Default 96 prelude auto trans question

Sometimes when driving it seems like the car takes a long time to get out of first gear, and it also kind of seems like it slips downshifting into 1st gear. Is this normal? The car only has about 80k miles, I was going to take it in for a flush and filter but worried the trans may have issues. The car has drove like that since I got it. The fluid level is fine and the trans fluid looks and smells to be fine. Thanks.

I think the trans is in the way out.
Have this car been in Crash ?
Or have it been changed the engine ?
if yes then that will be the problem
same thing happened to my friends AUDI his engine was down and he gave the car to the shop then when he got it back it took the first gear to shift longer and second. Why? because poeple made mistake with the trans shifting.
I hope i helped you GOOD LUCK with it.
