91 ef hatch si!
high mileage motor (300k miles) stock d16.
i want to make it quick, im not lookin for a 10 second quarter mile fast and the furious car . but something cool lol.
i was thinking a gsr, b16, or b18.
i was also thinking just another d16 plus a turbo kit.
i need opinions, it is a daily driver. but my dad and i are lookin for some more power out of this thing lol. thanks guys

What you choose is your choice. You should base it on how much you want to spend, how much you know, and how fast you want to go.
Try searching for information on the various engines and see what is involved with the swap, and then you can weigh up your options. There's plenty of information if you want to search for it.

I wouldn't go turbo, I my last 88-91 was a CRX Si B16 turbo. It was not reliable (full custom kit), sold it for that reason and I will never turbo another Honda again. In my opinion, Hondas are made to be naturally aspirated; street, strip or track, NA all the way. If built with the correct parts and you are not looking to make a 600 hp drag car, a NA motor will give you the reliability and performance that you are probably looking for. Check out some of the stuff that Bisimoto is doing for NA motors. Just my two cents...
Well seeing that i don't know your financial situation or your skill set, i'd suggest a B series. LS vtec if you have the skill, B16 if you dont, b18c if you have money and the skill to put in a b16.
You have more money to blow than a B? Go K.
Can't afford or don't know how to swap in a B? Go D.
They're all Honda engines so they're going to be reliable depending on how you service them, none of them have terrible short falls. If you turbo a motor it will generally last for a less period of time.
The D has less power than a B, though if you plan to boost it, it could potentially have more (and cost more).
Without goals, it's hard to find the right engine. So take the information and you might be able to work out what's right for you.

90-93 Integra engines are probably the best to go for daily drivable power. And with bolt ons of course. From what ive know its just basically plug and play if you have the mounts, shift linkage, tranny, and axles. Pretty inexpensive and well worth it. Then you can build on top of that to achieve your power goal.

Swap for a B series.
You will have A descent amount of power right away.
Then you can add racing cams, headers, intake good exhaust system, oversized throttle body ect.
really comes down to money in the end. haha

if you had a turbo car and it wasn't reliable, it wasn't' tuned properly, or wasn't built properly. don't mislead noobs' into thinking that turbo cars are not reliable. (see post above me) but yeah, op, you need to come up with a game plan. b series is a fun swap, and will net a good outcome if you do it right and take your time. maybe some time up the road you will want to boost it. or, stay single cam, convert to obd1, and have some fun. the options are limitless really, just depends all in what YOU want. its your car, do with it what YOU want.
