soft brake problem

Default soft brake problem

Hi,
I own an 01 odyssey and I experienced the soft brake issue when I switch on my AC.I also have an 1993 civic and the same problem when the AC is switched on. why this is so happening guys,anyone know about this.Hope to get help from you.

Hmmm. I like these interesting problems. Lets see...

I would think that it has something to do with vacuum assist from the booster (because the idle drops somewhat when the compressor clutch is switched on). My thoughts are jumbled after this long weekend so it might sound weird, but the only link between the A/C system and the brake system would be the vacuum created by the motor, and the change in vacuum associated with the A/C on and its effect on available booster vacuum. No power assist (no vacuum)= rock hard pedal Excessive vacuum conversely should mean a softer pedal. Does the idle rise when the pedal is depressed?

Just a thought. An out-of-the-box one at that
