What size resonator for my exhaust?
I was wondering what size of resonator I should get for my exhaust? The car is a DA with a 97' LS motor. I want it to have a nice deep tone with no raspiness, not too loud either. Right now my exhaust is made up of a DC 4-2-1 header going to a 2.5" Catco hi-flo cat with a Kteller 2.5" mandrel bent piping kit with a magnaflow straight through style oval muffler and a 4" tip. Right now it is very loud and pretty raspy, but I like the overall tone. Just want to get rid of all the raspiness and quiet it down some.
So what kind and size of resonator would work out best for me?

resonators and glasspacks are the same thing. some of the better ones use stainless wool rather than roving fiberglass. it's the combination of the muffler, header, and resonator that create your exhaust sound.
dynomax actually has a complete cat to muffler stainless section they sell with a resonator welded in for around $120. it's a complete bolt on operation and 60mm tubing

oh please, enlighten us with your infinite wisdom
here's one glass pack...err resonator, wait, aren't they different oh wise one?

of course chambered varieties do exist and some even make really creative resonators that change the pitch of the exhaust. ferrari is famous for this.

are you seriously retarded? i mean you make a comment like this and even post up pictures that are labeled "glasspack" and then telll eveyrone they are "resonators" not glasspacks
Your the only one with the mental retardation here, i posted pictures of resonators and glasspacks, resonators have the fins, glass packs are straight through with the holes and the fiberglass insulation. Once again i repeat, this is not a hard concept to understand. A college education would have helped in your understand of how sound waves work.

enjoy.......
to the OP, magnaflow makes great perforated core glasspacks

i recommend using one of those, stay away from things like cherry bomb or thrush that are louvered core.

Thanks for the help guys. I ended up ordering the Magnaflow 10436 (22"). Hopefully that makes my exhaust sound alot less raspy than it is now.
it will help but the muffler really has an impact on the rasp. straight through designs are much harder to give a mellow tone to than chambered or twin loop designs. the ws2 and oem itr along with something like a greddy dt {this is also why the weird looking dt has that plugged straight pipe you can un cork} all sound great but are slightly more restrictive than say a buddy club which is just downright loud. i would try the magnaflow pack and if you aren't satisfied look into muffler design and either go for rides or at least listen to clips of those you enjoy hearing. this whole thing really has to be tuned to your ears.
