Good idea for a killswitch, but will it work?
Thinking of using one of these for my kill switch:

I'll be connecting it to the fuel pump. Will it handle the current though? Does anyone have any experience with the structural integrity of locks like this?

Matter fact it is a kill switch. Only difference is that this one has an actual physical lock mechanism

whether its a lock with a key, or a regular old switch, it doesn't really matter. a potential thief only needs to bridge the 2 wires behind it, and the killswitch will be bypassed.
Just for the record, I have done 12v for a living for the last 10 years.
One more thing to consider if you are doing a killswitch is that if you are or find a capable installer you can use relays to shut down whatever circuit you want by switches you already have in your car to energize the relays. Like you can setup a starter kill that is based off pressing the brake pedal and pulling the e brake or something. The options are almost limitless.
The best set up i can think of would be connect it to the grounds of the injector wires inside the loom of the harness or to the fuel pump.
While this is correct, the switch can be effective if it is mounted in a good location, for example on my 96 ek I would place it on the flat corner next to the climate control and if that bezel is bolted back in corrected with the oem hardware it would be quite difficult to get behind it.
One more thing to consider if you are doing a killswitch is that if you are or find a capable installer you can use relays to shut down whatever circuit you want by switches you already have in your car to energize the relays. here is an example of how you might use 3 triggers, and 3 relays, to send power to a 4th relay. This in turn allows the starter to spin. there are many ways you could go about doing this, this is just one of them.

the idea behind this is that if any 1 or more of the relays isn't triggered, then the starter will not engage. yes i realize this starter kill could still be defeated, but thats true for many things you might do to your car to protect it. like i said before, the idea is to have layers of security.

Take a handfull (6 or so) of simple on/off switches and wire ALL of them in series to the 12v wire on the fuel pump. Place them in inconspicuous places through out the car, hide some and leave one or two out in the open. They will act as a combination lock to your fuel pump. Before you get out of the car flip a few and chances are it would take someone all night to figure it out. Obviously this would't stop someone from jumping 12v from say the cigarette lighter (which is the most accessable power source) to the fuel pump but a kill switch on the ignition would. I have switches hidden all over my CRX and have let a MECP certified installer (with 20 years experiance with car alarms) in the car and he couldn't crack it.
Ultimately, layers are the key to keeping our cars safe from ********. There's planty of stupid little things you can do to protect your car, like tomorrow i'm going to a local yard and getting some rear door handles from an EK sedan and painting them and putting them in my car eliminating the key holes.

good idea, but easy to break into with a paper clip
i have those locks on my computer, and lost my key.
i just took a paper clip, bent it into a circle and with my knife was able to unlock it in about 30 seconds.
however its still a good idea, epecially if you hide it somewhere
