D series shift linkage pin work in B series trans ???
will a D series shift linkage pin aka bitch-pin work for a B series shift linkage or do i need to go and find a B series pin ? the reason i ask is that i put one in my linkage but the linkage moves around thru the car ...like if the car is in gear I can move the shifter like it is in Neutral this is making it diff. to go into 1st and 2nd alot of time i will hit 3rd trying to go into 1st and 4th trying to go into 2nd .... THANKS IN ADVANCED
oh yea, i used 2 nuts on the the end to lock it in place. been holding strong for the last 4 years, untill 3 weeks ago when i swapped out my transmission.

ive always just used a bitch pin. easy to remove easy to install with the proper tool, or a 1/4 drive extension lol.
for the record, there the same size, but get worn out so its best to replace with a new one after 20 years.

how do you get slop? when the bolt is the same size as the hole where the pin was? all i did was open up the hole on the shift linkage about 1/4 inch. like stated before ive been running it like this for the past 4yrs with no problems.

Its just fine if it fits tight. I use a grade 8 bolt and nylon lock nut. Works great.

I guess its what ever u preffer i think its boot leg to use a bolt and nut for ur shift linkage when u use nut and bolt ur gonna beat in and out and if u work on ur car alot motor swaps clutchs stuff like that u have to pull it out alot. This is why i wouldnt use a nut and bolt. The pin is made to fit in and act like a spring when in place nut and bolt is solid and if u beat in and out alot will make ur hole bigger in shift linkage so if u wanna keep getting bigger bolts everytime ur hole gets bigger than fine be boot leg i ll use a pin.
