It happens on all major holidays, because people are preoccupied with celebration. I almost had my P.O.S. '90 Oldsmobile stolen 10 years or so ago on Thanksgiving. But locking your car isn't going to stop a thief from stealing a car that they really want. All that will do is add to the price of a new window to the repair fee; if you're actually lucky enough to get your car back.
