Default Aftermarket alarm question

The previous owner of my car had an alarm installed.
I have no remote for it though.
I believe all the wiring is hooked up still.
Is it possible for me to buy a new aftermarket alarm system and just swap out the brain and reconnect the wiring too it?
Or would I have to rewire the car with the wiring from the new alarm?

Do you know the type of alarm system? I'm pretty sure you can get another remote matching the one you have or at least get a remote programmed to it. Thought I guess it depends on the brand of alarm system you have. I know viper does it.

If you get a new alarm of the same brand and model you will be able to get away with switching the brain. Some of the more expensive brands allows you to replace/reprogram remotes also.

Oh alright. I'll check what brand it is.
I think some of the wiring needs to be reconnected because the alarm light doesn't blink.

A white civic sedan just drove down my street with its headlights off.
It stopped two houses to the right of my house across the street and turned off its headlights.
Then it drove down my street and stopped two houses to the left of my house still with its headlights off.
I've never seen that car down my street so it seemed pretty sketchy to me.
I waited until the car left before I went inside.

I need a working alarm!

Get a tag number and atleast make a report of it. Nothing wrong with precautions. What kind of alarm is it? I don't know of any car alarm that you can't replace the remote. All you need is to get a new remost and program it to the alarm. Look up the manual on the net if you don't have one and figure out how it needs to be programmed. Programming a remote is not hard at all. Good luck bro, get on it asap.. way to many cars have been stolen recently.

I parked my car in my drive way for the night. I parked my Aunt's car at the end of the driveway to block mine.
I still haven't checked what brand of alarm I have or if all of the wiring is still currently connected.
I'll check on it tomorrow.

If the alarm light is on continuously it is in valet mode and if is is off it is in disarm mode. You can get one of those steering wheel locks in the mean time to offer some security until you get the alarm issue sorted out.

I couldn't find the alarm brain under the steering wheel.
I'll check behind the cluster or behind the stereo.
Or maybe the brain has already been taken out?

Turns out it was just my neighbor. Hahaha.
Idk why he had his headlights off though.

Epic fail at trying to find my alarm brain and trying to fix my power doors.
Alarm brain was not under the steering wheel or behind the cluster. Idk if it is behind the stereo or if the alarm brain had already been taken out.
I tried removing my door panels to check my actuators for my power doors and that was a fail.
Lol sorry, this Civic is my first car.

I also accidentally disconnected my mic for my bluetooth so I have to take out the stereo to reconnect it. Ahhh.

I thought the alarm was still wired but I couldn't find the brain so I am guessing it is no longer wired.
I know the car had been broken into when it was in the hands of the previous owner. It has two alarm lights in it though.

Another questions. My power doors don't work. Could it be the actuator is bad on all four doors or maybe just the power lock switch? Any ideas?
Sorry about the noob questions. Hahaha.

There is a fuse under the hood that feeds into the power door control unit. You should check for blown fuse first and then the control unit itself. I think it is a 20A fuse.

If there is a siren under the hood you can trace the wire to the brain.

I have checked the fuses. They are good.
Yeah there is a siren under the hood but I had trouble tracing it back.
I couldn't find the wire on the other side.

You can also trace the LED light to the brain.

If all fuses are OK then the next best bet is to check the control unit. I have a diagram but I dont know how to post here.

Could you PM it to me? or post the link.

I'll try tracing the LED.
