NSX brake swap, a different way
hope this can help someone since all the other writeups does not have pics that worked or any other details than shave, drill and shim
well I started out looking for a good brake upgrade that would allow me to run my 24.5" slicks on 15" kosei k1. so I started my search everything was big and ricey and 17" or bigger wheels, got a hint of the NSX swap from brake expert. well I got lucky and found a set of front and rear calipers off NSX. I've search all over the interweb for information about installing them, found bits and pieces, everyone saying this and that, shave this drill that shim this swap that, it was confusing.
so I being the renegade that I am, I started looking into other stuff like corrados, bmw, rovers, I knew the rovers and hondas uses the same parts on the compact cars.
MG ZR uses 282mm, 4x100, 25mm thick, hub centric to civics . I ordered a pair... direct fit, I decided to bolt them up using the 28t bracket from the nsx, bolt right up without shaving/machining anything, even clearance on both sides of the rotor.
here are some pics before I clean and paint them.
PARTS LIST:
91-96 Acura NSX calipers
91-96 Acura NSX caliper brakets
Rover MG ZR rotors... ebc sells these also UK ebay
Autozone duralast gold ceramic pads
stock civic 17mm caliper bracket bolts (the nsx one are too long)
everything bolts up and operate freely and looks original.
maybe the problem with having to machine the bracket is because everyone are using the 23t brackets, and prelude rotors.

I've searched every forums and found no valid pics, hope these help.

the center bore is the exact size as the civic,no room for ring. if you want want me to mic it I could if you need proof, the only difference is the diameter ,and thickness. What makes you think the center bore is too large?

Many people use incorrect center bores and are not cognizant of the risk.
its a night picture, its not very good.
I learned about this disc from my German friends, and Germans will not approve anything if its not 100% accurate.

one downside I was told about by brake expert is that I may not use up all the pads,I will not know when its time to change pads because the original nsx caliper is 28mm and the rover rotor is 25mm, my friends said they never experience that, they said that the wear indicators still works and will still use up all the pads evenly.
The 45 mm is height nice, as it avoids shaving the caliper bracket. You have to be careful with the pad wear, as you could hyperextend the pistons or wedge the thin pad between the caliper bracket and rotor.
Edit: The NSX does indeed use a 28mm thick rotor.

thanks for the advice, I will watch the pads closely, maybe change 3mm before the wear indicator. this car is not daily driven, and when I get my trailor it will be all out track car.
i used prelude h22a calipers and carriers with zr 282mm rotors
had to lightly shave some metal of the carrier since it was hitting the rotor when i bolted it onto the hub

is the ap2 from the 97 and up? I don't know the codes, but as far as I know the difference are the brackets, so you could run different brackets, as you can see in one of my pics I have a 15" wheel with my slicks.
my friend used ek9 calipers with mg zr 282mm rotors they cleared fine
i had to shave mine since h22a calipers use 23mm thick rotors and the mg zr are 25mm
