Default f22 turbo??????

i am selling my gsr and consider on what to buy next for my turbo project. I have been seeing some crazy numbers on f22 turbos. Im wondering if i would get a 1996 accord coupe, im wondering what kind of times would a 2 door accord put out with something like a fmax kit running 8 psi. Also which accord motor is the best for boost.

The F22B1 is the best motor for boost. Second, the F-Max kit uses a 10lb spring. Expect around 230-250 with the kit. Second, get 94-95 cars, because the OBDI is much easier to work with IMO. Last, but not least, you should be able to go about 12-14 psi on the stock internals.

now 2,800 and 264 ftlbs, it doesnt seem like that accord would be slow... also accord94dx, would you consider selling your car?

12-14 psi on stock internals. Damn. I hate my engine, people have problems with 7-8 on H22s!

dang, 240+ hp with just the kit on stock internals? i mean i was just looking to get in the 250ish range, and here i thought it'd take a lot more than that. what about if you build the motor, and turn up the boost? what kind of number should i be looking at then?

after you build the engine its pretty endless on how much power you can make

if you do everything right and tune perfectly you could probably see 500 hp with race gas...but ya know...thats far fetched for anyone in the accord forum, but doable...

well i wasn't trying to make some beastly drag car, just a fast *** streetable car that will suprise the folks around here who hate on honda's, especially accords. damn that sure would be nice to have 300+. is that still on stock internals? what other kind of mods would be necessary as a safety precaution to keep my motor from exploding all to hell? i was thinking of new valvetrain, and internal components down the road after the turbo kit. are they really worth it? or would i better off to just pp the head and manifold?

well, 1200 hp is doable with the right turbo and internals, it is all about how long the engine will last after that much power is pushed through it...and i don't think that 1200 hp in a 4cyl. f22 would make it even 1/3 way down the track!

as far as f series goes, the F22B1(94-97 EX motor, but try to get a 94-95 since they're OBD1) is hands down the best motor to turbo. SOHC VTEC is excellent for F/I, and with the rod stroke ratio of the accord you will make massive torque to move the heavy *** accord down the road. also, it has 8.8:1 compression which is almost perfect for turbo. the f23a1 is also a good motor(its SOHC VTEC) but its OBD2 and I try to stay away from OBD2(its too restrictive).

f22b1 baby.

97 Accords came with an F22B1 too. I highly recommend the earlier 5G cars (94-95), since more of them had the manual transmission.

I have a 91 accord as my beater with an F22A6 in it (it has a 5 speed tranny). Definitely been looking into throwing a turbo on it. You guys think this is a good motor for FI also? Pardon my ignorance....I know a good deal about FI, but jack about Hondas

I think the F22A6 is great for boost because you dont have to deal with that stupid single cam VTEC on the B1.
