broken axle without torn boot?
im having a vibration problem at low speeds (still) the axle had popped out of the trans and now i hear a popping sound and i feel it in the wheel. the axle is in the trans and it is installed all the way it hasent popped out again and i havent been drving it other than attempts to diagnose the issue. could a boken axle cause a shake?
thanks
thanks
yeah.. sounds like it.. if its popping like that, then it sounds like the inner cv joint got screwed.. you would probably have to replace it..
you can TOTALLY break an axle and not tear the boot, FYI.. lol

Absolutely possible. A car as old as the ones many of us drive around could easily have had axles replaced 2, 3, 4 times. Many times people get remanufactured axles because of the price difference, and to be honest reman. axles are usually junk. I have had remanufactured and even new axles cause a vibration, so it is very possible that the used ones in your car are causing a vibration. Good luck!
