ok so i have no idea wat the problem is but whenever i get into high rpms around 5000 my engine completley stalls and acts like it wants to give up any suggestions......i was thinkin it had something to do wit vtec but i dont beileve thts it when i say stall its like my motor give up there and u have no more power but when u change gears to the next gear it works fine.....its a 1998 honda civic ex d16 y8 its all stock no recent work........also gauges are jumping

 

There is a good possibility that your car is trying to commit suicide due to your terrible grammar. Does your computer crash often?

Could be a short, Do the gauges always jump or only when the issue starts?

 

well it dosent really start it always happens they jump till it gets around where vtec kicks in and then it crashes but i dont think its vtec cuz if i half floor it till 4500 vtec kicks in early it juss does it around 5000 rpms and when the gauges jump u can feel it in the engine

 

Check your ignitor, any codes?

Have your dad check the ignitor then. You have to read voltage. Do you have any codes?

Have you checked and made sure the distributor hold down bolts are tight? Have you checked ground to the trans/body? Ground from battery to body? Ground at T stat housing?
