ECT Code. PLEASSSSE HELP!

Icon3 ECT Code. PLEASSSSE HELP!

So i put in a new Y8 and im getting a code 6, I have changed every temp sensor that there is, and im still throwing the code. I have tried reseting the ecu. and it keeps popping up. Any one ever have this problem? Or know how to fix it?? PLEASEEEEEE HELP!

Well I would start off by checking the basic's. Check wiring/ground. Check that your coolant is flowing properly. Check the temp yourself and refer to the book to see if it's a issue.

well ect code is 86 for the sensor in the head itself. did u change the one closest to your headlights with the green plastic on it

i changed all 3 sensors under the distributor, new themerstat, tried it all. Im lost!

check for continuity on the wire going back to the ECU. You may have a broken wire.

can you post of picture of your wiring in that area, I know it sounds funny but a guy in here recently did a similar swap, had that code and had switched the wiring for the ECT and the VTEC pressure switch

Just look for the same colored wire @ your ECU as there is at the connector @ the sensor. Check continuity from end to end. This should have been done before you even bought any sensors.

Thats kinda funny, possible but funny. I'd think he would be getting a code for the pressure switch as well. Maybe not if the ECT sensor eventually sent similar voltage at a certain temp as the VTEC pressure switch signal.
